Santorini

Santorini is magical. We were fascinated while entering by Blue Star Ferry into the volcano crater.

We stayed in the magical village of Oia.

One can just stay there and watch colors changing along the day. On cloudy days the images are almost black and white. Morning sun makes stunning contrast views and afternoon sun changes the colors to red as the rocks. At sunset Oia is just surreal.

We took a bus from the port to the bus terminal in Fira and then we took a second bus which dropped us right in front of our BB Aspa Villas where I rented an apartment.

Volcanic rocks with calcaire on top seen from the bus on hairpin road up to Fira.

Views from our veranda to Thirasia island.

Sunset from our veranda.

I was inspired by big choice of olives at the supermarket and cooked chicken breasts with olives and local wine, a huge bottle for 3 E.

We walked to Amoudi port one morning and had lunch there at Catherina's restaurant.

As apetizer we decided on a eggplant salad and tomato keftedes. The tomato in Santorini is a special volcanic type and has a smell. Also the eggplant salad was made of white volcanic eggplant.

We could choose our fresh fish just caught.
